DEPOSITA IN PACE IN MMXXVV
inspired by the history of the veneration of catacomb saints and the revitalization of anonymous bodies exhumed in the 16th century during the Counter-Reformation this ritual is revived: naming, adorning, and transforming a forgotten toy. she overloads the doll with ornaments and alters its colors to transform the original story. DEPOSITA IN PACE IN MMXXVV offers a reinterpretation of princess tales, without princes or resurrection, where a new princess, a broken doll found in the street, has just been named, but at peace. the pink gives way to the chrome of armor acting as a protective barrier. various aesthetic and historical references are linked to coveted objects, precious things, and shiny things, in the style of the magpie's eye, while creating illusions of so-called noble materials.
