We decided to make a temple in an abandoned building by the sea in Batumi. Using
stones, sticks and randomness in the form of selected scrap metal, we organized for
ourselves a place of power and contemplation. Everything was the will of chaos, we
came into contact with it and took out objects from it, which later became part of our
exposition.
Every morning when I went there, I shrank inside, preparing for what I would see. I
didn't know if everything would stay in its place or if I would see ruins.
This is a kind of experiment. The dark and light side in each person: exactly which
side the personality will choose and will be the future of our sanctuary's existence in
the future. How will people behave in this space: to bring or destroy?
The main conclusion of the experiment:
This is an endless cycle of destruction and creation. An important detail is that a homeless person lives on the second floor of the building. He accompanied us with his presence while we dragged stones and adjusted the space for ourselves. We saw his room before the appearance of the temple and after. The difference was that he began to decorate it: he placed shells along the shell, glued a
torn label with the image of a Japanese girl on the wall, and began lighting candles in
his shelter.
And this means that the energy of the place is working, the logical chain has
manifested itself clearly.
