Montreal based artist Andrew Rutherdale presents his first solo show at
Sedentary Enslavement. Composed of eight 3D prints coated in algae and resin,
the work alludes to Hawaii’s role as a global producer of algal byproducts. The
biomorphic forms of the prints appear as strange creatures from a genetically
modified post human future. This show prompts the viewer to consider the
effects of mass agriculture alongside other interventions in the natural world.
