Deadstock unfolds in a void as the echoes of media and desire hydroplane on the surface of global capital: from factory floor, straight to ruin. Commodity and desire decompose into immediate nostalgia, the dragon devours its own tail: following a hunger for metabolic equilibirum and snagging implausible moments of occulted magic in its wake.
Here at the end of days, every trend is always-already "deadstocked': abstractly, as infinite new microgenres are minted from the contstant recombination of prior eras' forms with innumerable entry points; materially as the manufacturing industry supplies products at an even faster pace than the desires they service, destined to be frozen in time somewhere along the logistics chain when the trend's shelf life expires. Every aesthetic is the spawning point for a million crates of zero~use commodities - variations of formal novelty and bespoke desires softly rotting in their retail-ready packaging, synthetic and serene. Offgassing the geist in this dormant form, they represent the ghosts of globalized logistics.
